DIY Recessed Light Converter

Hey Guys!

Welcome to Thriftocrat DIY where I share all my DIY projects (big & small) along the way. As you may already be able to tell, I am a very thrifty person. I cannot come to terms for paying someone to do a project that I can do & learn along the way myself. Even if it stems from watching how-to YouTube videos!

 BEFORE:

This past weekend I converted a recessed light into a hanging fixture. It all started in our powder room (as I do a slow remodel) with a recessed light into a chandelier. This beauty was sitting in a box for a whole year before I came across the Westinghouse Recessed Light Converter and watched their how-to YouTube video.
Fairly easy process to follow, removing the existing high hat and securing the new bracket in place. Just need a little muscle to endure holding the fixture while connecting wires and fastening to the bracket.
I am very happy with how it came out! It really brings charm to the powder room reflecting off the gold accents & navy walls. I was so pleased with the outcome that I decided to replace 2 other fixtures in our home - 1 ceiling fan and 1 light fixture.

AFTER:

Anything is possible with a dollar and a dream!
